A woman has been left with serious leg injuries and her pet Chihuahua was killed after a hit-and-run in western Sydney.

Police said the 28-year-old woman was walking her dog across Bungarribee Road in Blacktown about 9.35pm on Saturday when they were struck by the car.
The black 2007 Black Mazda CX7 did not stop, and continued travelling in an easterly direction.
The woman was taken to Blacktown Hospital.
Police have urged the public who may have information about a 2007 Black Mazda CX7, which may have damage to its front end, to contact Crime Stoppers.
