UPDATE
A man is due to appear in court today, charged over an alleged assault at Caringbah on Thursday.
Police from Miranda Local Area Command yesterday released CCTV footage of a man who they believed might be able to assist with inquiries into an alleged attempted sexual assault of a woman.
Following inquiries, officers arrested a 45-year-old man on Friday night and took him to Miranda Police Station where he was charged with four offences:
• Stalk/intimidate intend fear/physical harm (two counts)
• Assault with act of indecency
• Attempted sexual intercourse without consent.
Police will allege a 19-year-old woman was walking in an alleyway about 10.20pm on Thursday between Willarong Road and Curtis Street, Caringbah, when she was grabbed from behind by the man who attempted to sexually assault her.
The man, from Caringbah, was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court later today, Saturday.

NSW Police have released CCTV after the attempted sexual assault of a woman at Caringbah last night.
The video shows the back of the man wearing a hooded jumper as he turns into a laneway.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the attempted sexual assault of a woman at Caringbah last night.
The assault took place in an alleyway which links Willarong Road and Curtis Street, Caringbah, about 10.20pm.
A 19-year-old woman was walking when she was grabbed from behind by a male not known to her.
The woman fell to the ground with the male making attempts to sexually assault her.
She was able to fight the man off and run away, however her handbag was cast aside during the incident and it was left at the scene.
The woman reported the incident to police a short time later.
Officers from Miranda Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
The man has been described as dark skinned, 170-175cm tall, of a solid build, and he was wearing a grey jumper.
Police are appealing for anyone else with information to come forward.
