Sutherland have dragged themselves off the bottom of the NPL 1 table with a much-needed 3-2 win over Bonnyrigg on Saturday night.
A brace from Jeremy Cox and a flicked header from Nathan Elasi gave the Sharks their first win of the season at the Bonnyrigg Sports Club.
Sutherland coach Carlos Villazon was thrilled with the win and proud of his players.
“I am delighted for the players,” he said.
“We came to Bonnyrigg which is a tough venue against a desperate team. We had a plan to play from defence and we had some good chances.”
Sutherland will look to build on their first three points of the campaign when they host Wollongong at Seymour Shaw Park, Miranda on Saturday night.
Kick-off is at 6.30pm.
