Musical Grease Vs Hairspray is a spectacular new production coming to the Sutherland Entertainment Centre that brings together two of the biggest and most popular musicals of all time.
Grease came out in 1970’s but was set in 1959 portraying the friendship, romances and adventures of high school teenage kids in the 50’s.
Whereas Hairspray was released in 2003 and is a social commentary on the injustices of part of American society in the 60’s.
Together these two musicals in the one show fit perfectly and complement each other as they feature songs from the 50’s and the 60’s that are loved by both young and old.
Hairspsray has loveable characters such as Tracey and Edna Turnblad, Penny Pingleton, Link Larken, Amber Von Tussle, Motormouth Maybelle and Corny Collins.
The audience is treated to songs like Good Morning Baltimore, Big Blonde and Beautiful, Hairspray, You Can’t Stoop the Beat, I can Hear the Bells and more.
And who can forget the characters from Grease like Danny, Sandy, Kenickie, Rizzo, Sonny, Frenchie, Principal McGee, Marty, Jan and Doody.
This is a musical that will have the audience singing and dancing along to songs such as Summer Nights, You’e The One That I Want, Greased Lighting, Hopelessly Devoted and more.
Grease Vs Hairpspray is a fun and energetic costumed show with constant choreography and has a witty and funny script sure to delight audiences.
