It isn’t often that you hear of a 14-year-old going to school and then heading off to work at a part-time job to help chase a dream of becoming a professional go-kart racer.
But that is just what Cronulla High School student Lachlan Ward has been committed to.
Lachlan races go-karts at state and national level and is hoping to move up to Formula Ford which is the next level the year 9 student needs to compete in if he is to be successful in the pursuit of his dream.
A car enthusiast from a young age, Lachlan has always had a love and passion for fast cars and motor sport. He even has a collection of his idol Peter Brock’s model cars.
Lachlan is attempting to raise the money needed to compete in Formula Ford himself, working part-time jobs and earning sponsorship deals from local companies.
