Television presenter Teigan Nash is bringing an event to her hometown of Cronulla to empower teenage girls.
The former Saturday Disney presenter started Girls Who Glow this year alongside her good friend and fellow television presenter Liv Phyland.
They will hold a Girls Who Glow event at Cronulla Sailing Club on Friday, September 29 from 10am to 4pm.
The event will cover five topics for teenagers aged 13 to 17 including nutrition, exercise, social media and body image, relationships, and mental health.
Teigan said she often received messages from teenagers while working in children’s television.
“We were receiving messages from teenagers about anxiety, about being bullied at school, about what should I eat, all these different things that teenagers go through.”
She said her and her friend Liv decided to start an event to empower teenage girls.
“We have done two events now and will be holding one in Cronulla.”
She said they had plenty of guest speakers coming including a dietitian and psychologist. “But it is not like school. We are not talking at you. It is very interactive.”
The up-coming event is sponsored by The Sebastian Foundation.
Saturday Disney finished airing last year but Teigan is still involved in plenty of projects including freelance presenting with Channel 7.
- Tickets are $99 and available here. The event is restricted to 80 girls.
