A ride-sharing driver was punched in the face and robbed at Hurstville after picking up a man and two women from Kareela Golf & Social Club.

It was the second assault and robbery in a month in St George involving a ride-sharing driver.
A police spokesman said the latest incident occurred when a ride-sharing driver, 48, was called to the club in Bates Drive, Kareela, about 6.15pm on Wednesday and picked up a man and two women
“Police have been told the driver stopped the car on King Georges Road, Hurstville, and asked the passengers to leave after they became aggressive,” he said.
“The man grabbed the driver’s mobile phone from a cradle and left.
“The driver grabbed hold of a woman’s handbag before the man returned and assaulted him, punching him in the face.
“The man then kicked the car door, smashing a window.
“The passengers fled with the driver’s mobile phone, and were last seen on Forest Road.”
St George police began an investigation and the vehicle was taken for forensic examination.
The driver sustained cuts and abrasions to his face but declined medical attention.
Police would like to speak with a number of people who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 27 years old, of a medium build, and with short curly hair. He was singlet top, a navy long sleeve jumper, blue jeans and black sunglasses.
The first woman is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 26 years old, and with dark hair.
The second woman is described as being Caucasian appearance, about 24 years old, and blonde hair. She was carrying a light brown coloured handbag.”

A ride-sharing service driver was assaulted, and his phone stolen, at Bexley overnight.
The driver, 34, was called to Forest Road, about 10pm on Tuesday and stopped near a group of three men.
Police were told the men got into the car and, after it had travelled a short distance, the driver was punched in the back of the head.
The driver stopped the car and got out, before being further assaulted.
The men fled with the driver’s mobile phone.
St George police, who were called to the scene, arranged for the vehicle to be taken for forensic examination.
The driver sustained cuts and abrasions to his arms but declined medical attention at the scene.
One of the men being sought by police is described as being of African appearance, medium build, about 25 years old, 170cm tall and with a black beard.
He was wearing a dark coloured jumper and pants.
