Sydney FC remain five points clear at the top of the A-League after downing Melbourne City 3-1 on Friday night.
Luke Bratten gave City the lead at Allianz Stadium before an Adrian Mierzejewski free kick and Bobo penalty earned the Sky Blues a half-time lead.
Alex Brosque sealed the result late on to celebrate breaking the club’s all-time appearance record in style.
Sky Blues coach Graham Arnold was pleased with the result.
“When you can not play at your best and still win and when you have the pieces of quality and class like we do and we can score those goals, it’s a positive,” he said.
“They were a bit hard to break down but that’s what set pieces are for. We get a free-kick outside the box and Adrian can put those in.
“There was a lot of hard work. The boys’ attitude was spot on and at the end of it the result was a fair one.”
Sydney FC travel to New Zealand to face last-placed Wellington on Saturday.
