Australia's Jarryd Hughes has won a Winter Olympic silver medal in the men's snowboard cross in Pyeongchang.
It is Australia's third medal at the games, after Matt Graham's silver in the moguls and Scotty James winning bronze in the snowboard halfpipe.
France's Pierre Vaultier retained his Olympic gold medal by winning a dramatic final at Pyeongchang's Phoenix Snow Park.
Vaultier led the final from the start, while Hughes edged Spain's Regino Hernandez for the silver with a mad rush to the line. Hughes, the world No.9, went out in the quarter-finals at Sochi in 2014.
Fellow Australian Alex Pullin also made the six-man final but did not finish the race.
Earlier, Hughes and Pullin had finished one-two in a semi-final which also included a third Australian, Cameron Bolton, who crashed out early but managed to compete in the small final after failing to qualify for the medal race.
