Moorefield Bowling Club have started the year with a win in the Zone 13 Central and Southern Sydney Bowling Association president’s triples.
The winning team of Mark Seghers, Damian Cooper and Cameron Crosby downed Ramsgate RSL 27-20 in round one before beating Cronulla 25-21 in round two at Ashfield Bowling Club.
Moorefield edged out Five Dock 21-19 in round three before progressing to the quarter-finals where they defeated Randwick 26-16. A 26-21 semi-final win over Grandviews set up a final against Bronte, which Moorefield went on to win 25-16 in front of many of the club’s fans at South Coogee Bowling Club.
Moorefield were represented by five teams in the championship with four of those sides reaching the quarter-finals.
The club are hopeful the result is just the start of a successful 2018.
