Transport police from Cronulla and Hurstville were involved in an operation which led to the arrest of 17 people on trains and stations in southern and south-western Sydney.

The high visibility operation, in which more than 40 trains and 63 stations were patrolled, ran from 2.30pm on Thursday until 12.30am on Friday.
Anti-social behavior and alcohol-related crime were targeted by officers from the Police Transport and Public Safety Command, based at Bankstown, Wollongong, Campbelltown, Hurstville and Cronulla.
The Police Dog Unit assisted in the operation.
Charges laid included possessing a prohibited drug, goods in custody and offensive conduct.
Officers also issued 27 move-on directions and 115 ticketing and other transport infringements.
Police said similar operations would be conducted across the transport network in future.
