A packed program of events has been organised for Sutherland Shire Council’s 2018 Seniors Festival.

The festival, which will run from March 25 until April 26, will feature 28 events over 33 days.
Activities will include films, other types of entertainment, health and wellbeing events, art and craft, hobbies, interest groups, education seminars and talks and outdoor activities.
Sutherland Shire’s annual short film festival will be held for the ninth year, featuring unique films from around the world.
Seniors will be able to learn more about a wide range of topics from strata living, researching family history and safer driving to getting the most from a smartphone, reducing waste and shopping rights.
Activities will include a guided walk around the Cronulla peninsular or the Joseph Banks Native Plants Reserve to spotlighting in the Royal National Park.
Get Active Expos will introduce seniors to groups and clubs involved in gardening, exercise, computers, history, volunteering, music, along with Probus, Men’s Shed, Lions and the Older Women’s Network.
Expos will be held in three different locations – Gymea on the April 6, Menai on April 12 and Engadine on April 18.
The annual Seniors Luncheon, on March 27, will celebrate the shire’s centenarians with free entertainment and lunch at Sutherland Entertainment Centre.
