A woman has been charged after allegedly stealing personal property worth more $14,000 at Riverwood.
Police will allege in court personal items, including handbags and cash, were stolen from a number of elderly men and women at car parks in Riverwood between November 2017 and April 2018.
Following investigations, about 1.30pm on Friday 13 April 2018, a 42-year-old woman approached a 78-year-old woman in a car park on Riverwood Street, Riverwood.
It will be alleged the younger woman began talking to the older woman before taking her handbag, which contained more than $2000, and fled the scene.
A 42-year-old woman short distance away and taken to Kogarah Police Station by officers attached to St George Police Area Command.
She was charged with 24 counts of steal from person and not stop at stop line at red arrow.
The Riverwood woman was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
