Community praise for Sutherland Shire firefighters battling weekend fires

Authorities warn that winds are forecast to strengthen today, which may increase fire activity in Sutherland Shire.

Although the fire has been downgraded to “Advice”, conditions may change quickly and people should be prepared to activate a bushfire survival plan.

Sutherland Shire’s bushfire is still burning in a south easterly direction towards Barden Ridge.

Firefighters are working to slowing the spread of fire where possible.
