Harrison Crowe has confirmed his status as one of Australian golf’s most exciting prospects after being named in Golf NSW’s men’s team for the Australian Interstate Teams event.
The tournament, to be played at The Grange and Glenelg golf clubs in South Australia next month, are Australia's premier amateur team golf championships.
Each state is represented by eight players who contest singles match play in a round robin format before concluding with a final.
Crowe is one of eight new faces chosen to represent NSW across the men’s and women’s team and, at only 16-years-old, the Bexley golfer will be one of the youngest players at the tournament.
It has been a busy time for Crowe, who recently returned from the Australian Boy’s Interstate event played at Hartifeld Golf Club in Western Australia.
Crowe helped the Boy Blues as they challenged eventual winners Queensland on the final day. NSW needed to beat South Australia, which they did 3 and 2, only for hosts Western Australian to be unable to upset Queensland. Crowe won his match on the final day 2 and 1.
Earlier this year Crowe was the only male player added to the Golf NSW high performance team for 2018. In February, Crowe was nominated for a Combined Catholic Colleges Sports Award where he received a Blue Award.
Crowe also enjoyed an impressive pennants season with St Michael’s Golf Club. Playing as his team’s No.1, Crowe helped St Michael’s to the Sydney Metropolitan Major Pennants division one semi-finals where they were beaten by NSW Golf Club.
Crowe qualified for his first professional tournament at the NSW Open in November where he narrowly missed the cut at the Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club. He had survived a five-way play-off in his qualifier at Liverpool Golf Club just to make it to his debut pro event.
He has also set the goal to qualify for this year’s Australian Open at The Lakes Golf Club.
