A giant pink dolphin wearing sunglasses has taken up residence in Cronulla mall.
Miranda artist Mulga, known for his colourful murals across Sydney, has transformed the drab brick wall next to the children’s playground at the northern end of the mall.
“The community are loving it,” he said.
“It's a big pink dolphin and out of his blowhole will be some water with the text 'NULLA'”
Joel Moore, aka Mulga, approached the owner of the building, which houses the IGA supermarket and JD’s, with the idea.
“It’s a nice wall for street art,” Joel said.
Why a pink dolphin?
“I like summer, and I like painting animals in weird colours wearing sunglasses.
”We recently had the Walk the Wall street art festival in Caringbah and the street art is making its way down to Cronulla.
“I panted a gorilla face on one wall at Caringbah and pink dolphins on another..
”I started in the mall on Monday and a bunch of local kids had a paint with me.
“I had to do another job on Tuesday, but was back at Cronulla today and expect to finish it on Thursday morning.”
