Relay For Life is the world’s largest movement in the fight against cancer.
Funds raised locally go towards NSW Cancer Council’s mission to provide ongoing support and prevention services to people affected by cancer.
Participants of all generations including a huge sea of volunteers congratulated each other on their efforts in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for NSW Cancer Council – money that will go back into the community.
The event took a more serene turn with the candlelight ceremony at dusk – a time of reflection and remembrance to support those living with cancer and to honour those lost to the disease.
Cancer survivors and their carers embraced and cheered alongside a supportive community, who made this year’s 17th annual event one of the biggest yet.
This weekend’s fundraiser has raised about $300,000 and is well on the way to beating last year’s record achievement of close to $400,000.
