With the Local Business Awards underway, many businesses are wondering how they can get involved with this event next year. The process is fairly straight forward. The awards are conducted over an eleven-week period and the public have the opportunity to nominate their favourite local businesses in a selected category. Customers are able to nominate a business by visiting the Local Business Awards website, submitting coupons provided in The Leader newspapers or submitting coupons located at their favorite business' premises. Finalists are then selected based on the number of online and printed nominations they receive in their specific category with the most popular businesses selected.
The finalists are judged based on a two stage process. Information is received by each business and then they are visited by an anonymous judge.
The winners are announced at the prestigious Local Business Awards Gala Presentation Evening attended by local business people, sponsors and dignitaries.
