An elderly man has been taken to hospital suffering critical head injuries following a crash at Bexley North today.
About midday, a man believed to be aged in his 80s, was crossing Shaw Street, near Bexley Road, when he was struck by a utility.
The elderly man suffered head injuries and was taken to St George Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The 49-year-old driver of the ute stopped and rendered assistance; he was then taken to St George Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Officers from St George Police Area Command have commenced inquiries and would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
