The Cronulla Sharks development has reached another milestone, with residents moving into the 178 apartments in stage two.
Developer Capital Bluestone said the Woolooware Bay community had risen to 725 residents.
Work would start soon on stage three, providing a further 238 apartments, the company said.
When stage three is completed, there will be 636 apartments on the western side of the football stadium.
Another 244 apartments will be built in stage four, on the eastern side of the stadium, taking the total number to 880.
Stage four will also include a new shopping centre, hotel and upgraded leagues club.
No time has yet been advised for the start of stage four work.
Capital Bluestone, which is partnering Cronulla Sutherland Leagues Club in the project, said in a statement, “On completion, Woolooware Bay will be a vibrant, fully-integrated, masterplanned town centre, comprised of a resort-style residential precinct including gym, spa, roof top cinema, three pools and private pool club,”
“[There will also be] a retail centre, including full-line supermarket, supporting convenience shopping and a range of indoor and alfresco dining; a revitalised club headquarters and 75-key hotel.
“For the first time, the public will also benefit from direct access to a rejuvenated foreshore with cycleways linking the bay to the rest of the shire and beyond.”
The statement said stage two, comprising two apartment buildings, provided the first absolute waterfront homes, a lagoon-style outdoor pool, barbecue area “and spaces for all residents to gather and connect”.
“[Building company] Parkview and Capital Bluestone are now preparing to break ground on stage three, bringing on the next 238 apartments, including flagship building Crest, with its residents only infinity pool, with private cabanas, barbecues, and pool club, with full catering kitchen and expansive windows framing spectacular views.”
Capital Bluestone managing director Ben Fairfax said the completion of stage two had brought “new vibrancy to the blossoming community”.
“Our first residents moved into stage one in December, 2016 and, since then, have formed a really active, connected and supportive neighbourhood,” he said.
Sharks chairman Dino Mezzatesta said the success of the development was “adding to the club’s positive momentum”.
“People in our community have embraced the idea of Woolooware Bay and the development will support our club in being successful on and off the field long into the future,” he says.
To prepare for stage three construction, the display suite has been relocated in the Pavilion building in stage one, on the corner of Captain Cook Drive and Foreshore Boulevard.
The display is open daily from 11am-4pm, excluding public holidays.
Capital Bluestone said a limited number of apartments in stage three were still available for off-the-plan purchase.
