NSW Rural Fire Service volunteer Deborah Sharp was among the finalists in the 2018 Rotary NSW & ACT Emergency Services Community Award.
The awards, held June 1, acknowledged and celebrated the selfless community service of personnel.
The deputy captain of Engadine Rural Fire Brigade has been a volunteer with the brigade for the past 14 years.
In this time she has raised funds for several causes and been involved in community engagement initiatives.
Most recently in March, when bushfires tore through the NSW south coast town of Tathra, where 70 properties were destroyed, Ms Sharp helped provide a truckload of food to residents and fellow volunteers.
