Re the article ‘‘NSW schools to get $6 billion injection’’ (theleader.com.au).
I was glad to see the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian splash out on education funding, I am a great supporter of investment in social services.
Unfortunately, our local council has interests vested elsewhere.
Kingsgrove Road is home 2500 school students every school day.
Between Kingsgrove North High School, Kingsgrove Primary School, Kingsgrove High School and Saint Ursula’s College we have 2500 students travelling to Kingsgrove Road for schooling every single day - but how many libraries are being provided to the community?
None.
Libraries can be utilised by all age groups in the community – should we finally allocate some funding to this much needed and highly worthy cause?
Our council chambers are now aesthetically pleasing to the eye and our rangers have lots of tools and cars at their disposal and not to mention the ever increasing allowances for our elected councillors.
Given the council is always seeking innovative ideas; here’s one — how about we now invest in something called a library.
