Refurbishment works have begun at St George Hospital’s Cancer Care Centre.
The existing front entrance is closed, and staff, patients and their transport vehicles can access the centre through the main hospital entrance on Gray Street, and along the corridor.
There are also volunteers from Cancer Council NSW there to help people with directions.
The new centre, which is due to be completed in January 2019, will provide improved patient treatment spaces and a purpose built Haematology Oncology Day Centre, new clinics, reception and waiting areas.
Funds for the project were raised by the Cancer Care Centre Foundation, and the NSW government contributed $1.5 towards its make-over.
