Thousands turned for Chill by the Beach, the 11-day late afternoon and night event held Dunningham Park, Cronulla from the June 7 to 17.
The event was held to encourage families and friends to dine at one of Cronulla’s restaurants and clubs and then head down to Dunningham Park to sample a dessert served from one of five French timber chalet’s.
Adding to the winter carnival atmosphere was a 22-metre Ferris Wheel, a vintage Carousel overlooking the beachfront, live music, fire twirlers and an ice sculptor.
Centrepiece to the celebrations was the Sphere ball fire, a one-metre wide metal cut-out of the world with a fire inside where festival-goers could warm themselves.
Chill by the Beach was organised by BD Productions who also present the Cronulla Easter Show.
The biggest day of the event was on the Monday of the June long weekend when an estimated 10,000 people attended.
Organisers hope to present the event again next year.
