Talented home cooks competed in the best cook in the south contest this month.
Five competitors battled against each other in set-up kitchens in Westfield Hurstville, alongside a well-known chef.
The shopping centre partnered with Masterchef’s Sarah Tiong to search for the best home cook in the south through the fun cooking challenge.
The winner was Julia Najjar, who plated up a zesty chicken with spiced rice.
Other finalists were Vu Vuong, who cooked a Vietnamese basil chicken with rice, Michelle Nguyen, who cooked dumplings and caramel pudding, Suen Yee Chew, who cooked crumbed lamb cutlets with basil pesto, and Sylvia Aponte Galvis, who cooked chorizo paella with garlic bread.
