At 100 years of age, David Napper is going strong.
The Oatley centenarian lives in his own home, still drives a car, and does not take one smidgen of medication.
So it was no surprise his family cheered him to good health on October 24.
Mr Napper was born and raised at Rockdale. He was one of seven boys, who grew up working for the family business, J Napper & Sons.
At 20 years of age, he was conscripted into the army, and served five years in the transport division.
He married the love of his life, Peggy, in 1951 and they enjoyed a wonderful 65 years together. They have two children, five grand-children and six great-grandchildren.
In the later years, Mr Napper played lawn bowls, and was an inaugural member of the Kogarah Probus Club, receiving a life membership in 2014.
Many of his relatives flew from inter-state and the US to mark his milestone birthday.
“Do everything in moderation and don’t stress” is Mr Napper’s motto. “Health is your best friend,” he said.
