The greatest challenge for a Fleetwood Mac cover band is picking songs for their set lists, because they’ve all been hits.
Established 15 years ago by Gary Stewart and Ursula Cain in New Zealand, ‘Running in the Shadows’ is one of Australia’s best Fleetwood Mac cover bands.
Now based in Sydney, they’re busy performing every weekend at venues across Sydney. They will perform at Miranda Hotel on Friday, October 26.
The band has a core following of a few hundred people, ranging from as young as 20 and up to fans in their 70s.
They’ve had multiple sell-out shows, and with more than 12 members in their history, they are still going hard.
However it’s more than just a tribute, said lead singer Clodagh Reid who sings the part of Christine McVie.
Cain is an authentic reproduction of Stevie Nicks and moves the audience through a brief, but interesting, look into the history of the band.
‘‘The best compliment we get from the audience is that they closed their eyes and thought they were at the real Fleetwood Mac concert,’’ she said.
‘‘A lady from Gosford has seen us 12 times,’’ Reid said.
Songs from Peter Green, Rumours, Tango in the Night and Nicks’ solo songs are just a few of the hits played.
