St George Lions, with support from Club Rivers, will begin a new project this Friday called Conversations to Support the Community tackling the topic of depression.
These Conversations are forums to assist members of the community in matters that are currently important; such as health, law and order, internet security and scams, the i-generation, and the next frontier in health care in Australia, precision medicine.
Each of these “conversations” will have an expert speaker who will provide quality information and strategies on the designated topic.
As well, there will be time for questions from the audience. As part of the event there will be a luncheon afterwards. All proceeds to Lions’ charities.
The first of these conversations will be “Breaking Down Depression and Building Resilience”.
The talk will cover such topics as depression versus feeling down, symptoms to watch for, when to seek help, where to seek help, and key points to remember.
The speaker will be from the Black Dog Institute. Handouts will be available.
The talk starts at 12 noon. Cost is $35 and includes lunch.
