From designing interiors to creating visual collages of food, Burraneer’s Katelyn Triopodi is serving up a treat.
The interior designer, 21, is the taste buds behind Platter Up Co, a business she launched that combined her passion for food and design.
Being inspired by her Maltese and Italian heritage, Ms Tripodi, 21, designs her platters for all occasions – made to order platters using an array of ingredients that are displayed like forms of art on a canvas.
An artistic spread of grapes, cheeses, olives, cured meats, fruit paste, figs and crackers are sourced locally, the idea is to also support produce from Aussie farmers and small businesses.
“It all started when I was catering my 21st birthday party at home and I put together a selection of platters displaying it the way I love,” the foodie said.
“So many people thought we had hired caterers and were asking for their number, so I started making platters and arranging tables for friends and family and I was getting more and more orders and that’s how Platter Up Co was born.”
