The sky darkened and clouds opened up this afternoon, bringing a storm and heavy rain to the coast for the Thursday’s commute home.
Showers are set to increase well into the early evening and continue into the night.
NSW SES Sutherland Shire warns that residents are not out of the woods yet.
The large storm cell detected on the radar is passing through, bringing with it possible flooding around Sutherland Shire.
“Use caution on the roads as conditions may change quickly,” the SES warns.
“Avoid travel where possible and park your vehicles under cover and away from trees.”
