Sylvanvale is backing an initiative that seeks to smooth out issues that arise from the implementation process of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The community organisation is a founding member of Alliance20, launching at Parliament House in Canberra this week.
The alliance aims to improve services and the lives of families.
Sylvanvale, which was established in 1947 and supports more than 750 people in the Sydney metropolitan region, brings its expertise, knowledge and scale in supporting people with an intellectual disability.
Chief executive officer, Leanne Fretten, says it is committed to the success of the scheme.
“Alliance20 aims to work with government to ensure that the NDIS is a success for all participants and the wider community, a position that Sylvanvale has held and supported since in the inception of the NDIS,” Ms Fretten said.
“Sylvanvale through Alliance20 will continue to work with all stakeholders to ensure that Australia has a strong and responsive disability service sector, and the NDIS that was promised, both now and into the future.”
