A ‘very special’ gesture
A few days ago I was having a late lunch and a coffee with my daughter at Southgate, Sylvania.
We were discussing the ongoing arrangements for the funeral of my late wife. Then a dear lady, a total stranger whom I now only know as Mary, said to my daughter: "I am really sorry to hear about your mother" and presented us with a nice bunch of flowers.
I thought that this was very special.

A Lucky Day in Cronulla
On Monday, November 5 after a weekend celebrating my 80th birthday with family in Cronulla, I checked out of my hotel to catch 9.30am train to domestic airport heading home to Tweed Heads.
I must have dropped my wallet with cash, credit card, drivers licence at the station as I tapped on the Opal card.
I was nearing Rockdale when I realised it was missing.
Feeling very distressed I got off at Rockdale and told the amazingly helpful station manager, who then phoned Cronulla station manager.
He found it all intact and luckily I had enough time to return to Cronulla to collect it. He said he found it on a windowsill outside his office.
He too was so comforting to me and aided me to a taxi as I was still too shaken to attempt two more trains to the airport.
I really want to thank these two managers for their kindness and honesty and I hope the angel who picked up my wallet and left it untouched to put on the windowsill will read this, our world is still full of wonderful people. Thank you.

A champion bloke
Thank you Jeff for being there when I put petrol in my car at Rockdale without realising I had left my wallet at home. You’re a champion bloke! The money is on it’s way back to you along with a small gift.
