Wanda SLSC surf sports director Greg Pierce said the championships were a great event.
“We're proud to be sending such a large team to the championships. We have a very strong Masters team that includes former Australian Ironman champion Greg Allum and former Olympian and Australian decathlon champion Peter Hadfield,” he said.
“Our opens mens beach relay team will be hoping to defend their world title, achieved in Holland in 2016.
“Wanda's [two-kilometre] beach run team, coached by Jock Campbell, is extremely talented and should do very well, led by Australian champions Chloe Gentle, Ali Najem and Kai Hammond. The beach team is also poised to do well in the 2km beach relay event, newly added to the championships program."
The Lifesaving World Championships, held every two years, will run until December 2.
