A morning tea will be held at Caringbah Leisure Centre on Friday to mark the 50th anniversary of the facility.
Sutherland Shire mayor Carmelo Pesce and other councillors will enjoy a birthday cake with staff and patrons.
The pool, which cost $33,000 to build, was opened on November 30, 1968.
The council initially said the milestone would be marked with an exhibition of historic photos during two “Sunday Fundays” in November. A morning tea was subsequently announced.
The photos exhibition will continue for a few weeks, but, contrary to information in this week’s Leader print edition, there will not be a “Sunday Funday” on December 2.
