More fresh faces in uniform have taken base at their commands, marking the next intake of NSW Police recruits who are ready to serve and protect.
Eight new probationary constables join Sutherland Police and St George at Kogarah welcomes 13.
They were officially welcomed into the force on Friday at the Police Academy, Goulburn.
The officers will complete a year of on-the-job training and study an Associate Degree in Policing Practice by distance education, before being confirmed to the rank of constable.
Induction week will include station tours, drills and their first initial urgent duty drive assessment.
St George Police sargeant Christine McGuire says the command’s latest intake of recruits are from various backgrounds.
“They are all young – between the ages of 20-32, and we have 11 men and two women,” she said.
“They’re all extremely fit. We have some personal trainers, one marathon runner, one who served in the military in Afghanistan, and a few tradies.
“One of our females is from Mauritius, and is doing a masters of terrorism. The other girl was a cheerleader previously.
“We have another class arriving in February.”
