St George and Sutherland may be sick of the sight of each other by the end of next week with the local rivals to play three days of cricket against each other in just over a week.
Saints host the Sharks on day one of their two-day, round eight clash at Hurstville Oval on Saturday.
They will also meet again at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday morning for their Twenty20 Cup preliminary final.
They will then play day-two of their first grade match the following Saturday.
The flurry of meetings follows their clash in the Sydney Sixers conference of the T20 Cup last month, which Saints won convincingly.
St George though will be looking to take their form in white ball cricket into the two-day format after suffering a humiliating outright defeat to the previously winless Fairfield-Liverpool on Saturday.
Saints lost their final first innings wicket early on day two at Rosedale Oval before the hosts reached 6-178 in their second innings before declaring with a lead of 235.
But Kazi Szymanski’s six-wicket haul helped the Lions roll Saints for 144 despite St George captain Nick Stapleton’s 50.
At Howell Oval, Sutherland slipped out of the top six after they suffered a 53-run loss to Penrith.
Chasing 316, Jamie Brown (74) and Ben Dwarshuis (61) did their best to get the Sharks home. But Ryan Smith’s 5-54 restricted Sutherland to just 263 in reply.
Captain Chris Williams (31) and Steve Smith (28) made starts for Sutherland.
Play starts at 10.30am on Saturday.
