The homegrown talent of St George and Sutherland Shire are are set to take centre-stage at this year’s Carols in the Domain this Saturday night.
Carols in the Domain's musical director of ten years, Graeme Press is a resident of St George and Australian tenor, Mark Vincent is one of Sutherland Shire’s best-known performers.
Caringbah local Mark came to national attention when he won the third season of Australia's Got Talent in 2009 and signed with Sony Music Australia immediately after.
Both Graeme and Mark have a very special and longstanding friendship, that spans over a decade.
Mark Vincent was 15 years old when he performed at his first Carols in the Domain and from the very beginning he and Graeme developed a wonderful friendship and professional respect for each other.
Graeme will be celebrating his tenth year as Musical Director at carols and Mark has performed for nine of these years.
Mark will perform a song from his new Christmas album- The Most Wonderful Time of The Year.
Sydney’s Domain will be filled with glimmering candle light as the country's biggest and brightest stars take to the stage for Australia’s favourite festive concert- Woolworths Carols in the Domain.
The Woolworths Carols in the Domain is in its 36th year and will also be broadcast live on the Seven Network.
One of carols’ much-loved performers, Samantha Jade, will this year perform a song from her debut album, The Magic of Christmas.
Samantha Jade is known for her powerful vocals and captivating performances, and won Australian hearts after becoming the first female to take out the X-Factor title in 2012.
Also performing will be Australia’s X-Factor and Eurovision superstar, Isaiah Firebrace, Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist, Jack Jones who is making his debut at Carols in the Domain, Home and Away star Penny McNamee.
Other performers appearing on the night include The Wiggles, The Tap Pack, Mickey Mouse, Paulini, Thirsty Merc, Troy Cassar-Daly, Todd McKenny, Penny McNamee, the cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Muriel's Wedding The Musical.
Woolworths Carols in the Domain, Executive Producer, Shauna Kane, said Carols in the Domain is much-loved event and special night, not just for those in the audience, but for everyone watching around Australia.
“All our artists generously give up their time to perform and we thank them for that; however, most importantly we are raising funds for The Salvation Army through the sale of candle bags.”
