A man has been charged over a carjacking at Kogarah on New Year’s Day.
Shortly before 10.30pm on January 1, Suzana Bogdanovski, 52, parked her Toyota Yaris on Railway Parade.
A man threatened her with a knife, demanding she leave the vehicle. He drove off, heading towards Rockdale.
St George Police were notified but could not find the stolen car.
On January 10, the same vehicle was involved in a pursuit with police at Campsie, but the pursuit ended when police lost sight of the driver.
Following further inquiries on January 17, police arrested a man, 31, at Kogarah, after he was found inside the same car he had stolen.
The car also allegedly had stolen number plates attached.
He was taken to Kogarah Police Station and charged with armed robbery, larceny, police pursuit, fraud, and driving while disqualified.
He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on January 18.
