Hockey Dad will head home for the Farmer and the Owl Festival at Wollongong’s MacCabe Park on March 2.
The new addition was announced Thursday morning along with a slew of other talent including Tropical Strength, TEES, TOTTY, Sultans of Spin and After Touch.
They’ve since toured the US extensively, sold out shows across Australia and struck a deal with global retail outlet Urban Outfitters.
Blend Inn also set a record – the first Illawarra band to feature in the ARIA top 10 since Tumblweed’s Galactaphonic in 1995. Hockey Dad’s offering debuted at Number 6 on the ARIA Top 50 chart, and Number 1 on the ARIA Australian Artist Top 50 chart.
Hockey Dad were also the first artist to be feature in Triple J’s “Like A Version” for 2019, with a cover of Macy Gray’s I Try.
Some of the artists already announced for the Farmer and the Owl Festival include Beach House, Deafheaven, Snail Mail, The Garden and Shining Bird.
So far there are a total of 62 artists on the lineup.
The festival comes a day after electronic mega-stars Rufu Du Sol play an already sold-out gig at the same venue. It’s their only headline show in the state.
