Growing trend of bank closures
With the findings of the Royal Commission into the banks behaviour I would like to highlight the growing trend to close local bank branches.
St George closed in Oatley and customers were told to go to Hurstville or Sylvania.
Westpac gave government assurances that no St George branches or staff would be lost with their take over.
NAB closed at Riverwood (pictured) and customers now have to go to Revesby or Hurstville.
Bank of QLD closed Menai and customers were told to go to Cronulla.
Where does that leave local businesses and those who do not have the physical capacity to travel distances.
