The Mikarie Child Care Centre at Miranda will receive $183,000 through the NSW government's Start Strong Pathways program.
The grant will support its Sylvanvale early education link program for kids with a disability who have not met their developmental milestones.
Miranda MP Eleni Petinos said funding for community-based educational programs will enable services such as this one to expand.
“We want to support families to connect them to preschool education which will help their child’s educational outcomes down the track," she said.
The program includes home visits, a supported playgroup for children with an intellectual disability who are two years or younger, and group therapy training sessions for parents, carers and grandparents.
The centre has been allocated $78,600 in the 2018-19 financial year and $104,800 in the next financial.
Minister for early childhood, Sarah Mitchell, says non-profit early educational centres are key to the community.
“Children don’t begin learning at three or four. Playgroups like the service offered at the Mikarie Child Care Centre by the Sylvanvale Foundation provide stimulating and safe environments for little minds from birth,” Ms Mitchell said.
