An Alford’s Point woman accused of fleeing from police at 200km/h in a luxury car on the Princes Highway three months ago will fight her pursuit charge, a court has heard.
Margarita Tomovska, who dubbed herself 'Mercedes Mum' on Instagram in the wake of her high profile court appearances, is alleged to have sparked a police chase on the night of November 13, after patrolling officers from gangs squad Strike Force Raptor spotted her high-performance car – a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, which trades new for about $260,000 - on the Princes Motorway at Helensburgh.
Police will allege Tomovska pulled to the roadside, only to then take off, continuing northbound at speeds of up to 200km/h before coming to a stop almost 10km away.
Tomovska and a male passenger were arrested as they got out of the car. The man was later released without charge.
Tomovska arrived at Wollongong court in January wearing a designer dress, Christian Loubouton stilettos and $1000 Gucci shades, which she later showed off in posts to her 63,000 Instagram followers.
She courted public and media attention after she was seen recording herself outside the courthouse, and basking in her notoriety on social media, even posting a picture of herself with a Ch 7 cameraman.
The 27-year-old was expected to front court again on Tuesday however was a no-show, instead opting to send her lawyer, Louis Angelovski, in her place.
Mr Angelovski entered not guilty pleas to pursuit and speeding charges on Tomovska's behalf before asking for the matter to be adjourned for the brief of evidence to be served.
The case will return to court on April 9, when a hearing date is likely to be set.
Tomovska was excused from attending court on that date if represented by a lawyer.
