The weekend's wet weather washed away Sutherland's finals hopes as the Sharks had their first grade NSW Premier Cricket season ended on Sunday.
No play was possible on day two of their qualifying final against minor premiers Sydney University, with Sutherland stranded on 8-221.
The draw was enough for Uni to advance to the semi-finals.
A half century to Tom Doyle (66) and starts to captain Chris Williams (46) and Luke Hawksworth (43) saw Sutherland pass 200 on a rain-interrupted first day on Saturday.
But persistent rain saw day two rained out, with Uni advancing and the Sharks eliminated.
In fifth grade, Sutherland advanced to the semi-finals thanks to their draw with Penrith at Glenn McGrath Oval.
The minor premiers were bowled out for 226 at Caringbah on Saturday with Brendon Piggott (54) and Justin Green (53) making half centuries.
Penrith made 1-40 in reply on Saturday afternoon but no play was possible on day two on Sunday due to heavy rain.
Sutherland host Fairfield-Liverpool at Caringbah in their semi-final this weekend.
Meanwhile, St George have advanced to the fourth grade qualifying-final after their match with Gordon was washed out.
Saints host Eastern Suburbs at Hurstville Oval in their semi-final this weekend.
