It is easy to judge when our beautiful, treasured children have been subjects of threatening behaviour and preyed upon by those we trusted. We expected they would have maintained that nurture and esteem of those we held dearest.
There are no words we can utter which show anything but derision and contempt for Cardinal Pell and his kind in the betrayal of our children.
The more we demonstrated trust, so much greater became the treachery.
The worst aspect of this latest revelation is that the affair was conducted as were so many similar offences, determinedly and repeatedly against the frailest innocents of our family young when they were at their most exposed.
For George Pell and others of his treacherous kind who claimed they served God in their chosen Christian faith, their professed mentor and champion, Jesus Christ said this in the matter of dealing with little children, "those who offend against these little ones and cause them to offend, it were better a mill stone should be placed around their neck and be cast into the sea."
There is no rehabilitation for these sick priest minds, no accommodation among us where our young babes and older innocents can live out their expected lives as they will.
The institutions of all kinds were obligated through their members with a duty of care to our children. Clearly the offenders betrayed our trust.
Even clearer is the disdain clergy and others have for the words of Jesus. It is time for the Church to step up by stepping back from rogue priests.
The church must extirpate this colossal evil or die and to cite the world's oldest maxim "as they have done to others so let it be done to them so that justice shall be seen to be preserved throughout the earth'.
