Walking home one recent Monday night around 9pm three massive deer rushed out of the Heathcote Services Club (Club Heathcote) onto the roadway.
Thankfully a motorist was alert and avoided hitting them. A second car just missed them as well.
They are found grazing around the cub during the day (pictured).
In NSW deer numbers are growing quickly with the proportion of the state impacted by feral deer more than doubling from 8 per cent in 2009 to 17 per cent in 2016.
In 2012 a woman was killed when her car struck a deer in Kembla Grange.
There have been hundreds of other accidents involving this introduced species.
The ones at Heathcote need to be dealt with by Sutherland Shire Council before someone else is hurt.

It is concerning that there continues to be no political or bureaucratic will to cull adequately the menacing and increasing feral deer populations in the Royal National Park.
With our gardens suffering nightly and now often daily invasion and destruction by these introduced pests, living in suburbs near or bordering the park need to be given liberation from these marauding animals.
Do we have to experience death or serious injuries before this many, many decade old problem is properly addressed?
