When you see Ross Noble live you never quite know what you’re going to get.
The British comedian has toured the world with his stand-up routines and he's back by popular demand in Australia to tour his latest show, Humournoid.
Noble will be performing Humournoid at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre for one night only on April 10.
Known for his brilliant freeform improvisation and highly engaging live shows, the Geordie standup says his shows are never completely rehearsed and the audience is often a key source for producing laughs.
“It changes every night. I don’t sit down and write a show then do it, the show is kind of what mood I’m in,” Noble said.
“My shows are just about what is knocking about in my head and the audience plays such a big part of it.
"I go up there on stage, I see what the audience are into and follow ideas."
An accomplished actor on the stage and screen, Noble recently won Best Supporting Actor in a Musical at the What’s On Stage Awards for his role in Young Frankenstein on London’s West End.
Noble credits comedy for giving him the foundations to character act by standing tall and being silly in front of a crowd.
Ironically, being silly was something frowned upon in school with the funnyman recalling being told off numerous times for his eccentric ways and distracting others.
“For me school’s more about just mucking about and having a laugh,” he said.
"My head has always leapt from idea to idea which is useful for what I do now but obviously not when I was a kid.
"It doesn't help when somebody is trying to teach you science or maths.
"I'd be learning about something and I'd say, 'yes, sure I want to learn about Romans, but what if the Romans did THIS . . . ?' It's great for stand-up and writing TV shows but that's about it.
“It’s quite funny really that my eccentricity has bought me a house.”
