'A panelbeater's dream'
What a welcoming sight to see that most of the poles have been removed from the shopping centre at Ramsgate Beach. All the residents have renamed the area Poleville by the Beach. Please Bayside Council, do not replace, it was a panelbeater's dream! The area is looking decidedly better without them.

Traffic turns questioned
RE the letter ''Traffic control wisdom'' (Your View, March 27). I quite agree with D.E. Bruce, Cronulla. When plans for the changes to the Acacia Road and President Avenue intersection were announced, I voiced similar concerns when they asked for feedback. I also added that as a regular user of the right turn from President Avenue to Acacia Road I had noticed that probably about 90 per cent of vehicles then turned left (west onto the highway) and proceeded over the railway line towards Menai. By forcing this traffic into Sutherland at this peak time, it was not only adding to congestion in the schools and retail area, but also to the area around the station as this was the only alternate way to cross the railway line and head towards Menai.

Post polling litter
For weeks prior to the NSW state elections, we were bombarded with pamphlets and letters, extolling the virtues of all the candidates. Day of the election, we cop a whole heap more. After it is all done, the schools and footpaths are littered with scores of heavy duty cable ties, which have been cut off the candidate placards and just dropped where they lie. Disgraceful.
