In January I accompanied a friend and her little dog to the dog beach where the Cooks River meets Botany Bay at Brighton.
We were there at about 10.30am. My friend had been there before.
We were only there for a few moments when a man from Bayside Council came up and asked if he could scan her dog to make sure it was registered.
He was happy the dog was registered and then said the hours for dogs on that section of beach had changed. It was now restricted to before 10am and after 4 pm. He pointed to the new sign.
I asked if my friend would be fined. He said that had nothing to do with him. She recently received a fine for more than $300.
I'm so annoyed. Bayside Council should have advertised the change in the Leader or in its council newsletter.
The council officer was less than honest. That's an outrageous amount of money.
