One stay-at-home mum and a corporate mum have joined forces in helping other parents connect with their kids in the community.
Connect Local Sutherland Shire was recently launched to provide information to families about where the hot-spot playgrounds for example are situated.
They recently posted a photo of a park at Kirrawee that went viral on Shire Kids. It was a simple profile on the park and what it offered families in the area.
After Sutherland Shire Council upgrades the park, company co-directors Danielle Davey and Kim Tunbridge wanted to show it off.
"Especially as parents in a world where we have never been so connected, 24-7 (social media, texts, messages) we've never been so disconnected," Mrs Tunbridge said.
"We want to reconnect people in powerful ways."
"I've spent 10 years giving back to the community through the social media pages and groups that I created," Mrs Davey said.
"My passion as a mum of five is supporting local mums and local businesses."
Connect Local Sutherland Shire connects 80,000 active social media users across the Shire.
"We couldn't be prouder of the impact this has on bringing back community spirit," they said.
