The Cronulla Sharks have taken out the 2019 Tar Heel Invitational Water Polo Tournament in the US over the Easter long weekend.
The Sharks won the 31st edition of the competition, held at the University of North Carolina, thanks to an 11-10 victory over Triangle Masters in the decider.
The Sharks were the first Australian team to ever compete in the tournament which featured 32 club, college and masters teams from across America's east coach and the Caribbean.
The Cronulla squad was made up of players from the club's second and third grade men's teams.
The Sharks took on tournament hosts North Carolina Tar Heels on Good Friday before meeting defending champions Northern Virginia and the Washington Wetskins in their other round robin games.
Cronulla played a farewell game against an all-star team comprised of past, present and future Sharks legends at Gunnamatta Bay earlier this month before heading to the US.
The All-Stars were victorious 10-7 but the Cronulla USA touring side took plenty of positives away from the night.
Vice-captain Mat Schweighoffer was more than happy with the turnout and the standard of water polo.
"It was a great night for the club with so many supporters turning out to support us all," he said.
